BRIEF
Design a statement bookcase that celebrates the room’s soaring ceilings, provides functional storage, and introduces warmth, character, and accessibility through thoughtful detailing.
Approach
With exceptionally high ceilings as a key architectural feature, we designed a full height installation that draws the eye upward and makes the most of the vertical space. Open shelving was carefully proportioned to accommodate books and curated objects, with integrated lighting to add warmth and depth. A bespoke oak ladder on a sliding rail was introduced, both as a practical element and a nod to traditional library design.
outcome
A dramatic, floor-to-ceiling bookcase with concealed lower storage and soft integrated lighting, transforming the wall into a feature of calm sophistication. The solid oak ladder enhances both function and charm, offering easy access to high shelves while reinforcing the sense of height and grandeur in the room.
